Saghmosavank Monastery Complex

Saghmosavank is a monastery complex located on the edge of the Kasakh gorge, the first known information about which takes us back to the 13th century and is associated with the name of Lord Vache Vachutyan.

Legend says that Grigory Illuminator tried his best to build rocky deserts in Saghmosavank.

The main buildings of the monastery complex are located on the edge of the gorge and Saghmosavank desert is located in the gorge.

The school, founded in the 13th century, was one of the important buildings of the monastery complex.

It was declared a Higher school throughout Armenia and had a rich library of handwritten scrolls.
