Ashtarak is the oldest  in Armenia.

It is one of the settlements. It is formed on the bank of Kasakh River

And covers two banks of the gorge:

The city is rich in culture with mountains and traditions here in parallel with urban culture, there are developed winery traditions.  Medieval  bridge, mill next door, old bathhouse, churches, residential buildings which have monument status:

Built in 1664 Ashtarak Old bridge still stands. It is located in the Kasakh gorge on the river of the same name. The three-span bridge is the brightest and the most succsessful example of the construction of Armenian bridge that the crowded and disobedient Kasakhi was able to hold out for so many years.

The foundation of an older 13th century bridge has been preserved next to the bridge.

An interesting mill building has been preserved near Ashtarak bridge.

At the time it was the largest mill in the region which served the population of the entire region.

Powered by an ancient mother stream, the waters of which rotated giant stone slabs grinding wheat by flowing inside.

Next to the water-mill, the tonratoon with its wonderful lid has also been preserved.

There is a pink building that leads to the gorge of Ashtarak. This is an old bathhouse of Ashtarak which was built imitating Erevan and Tiflis baths of that time.

The old bathhouse in Ashtarak is also known as “the bath of the poor” according to the artwork only the poor bathed there. But in fact the bath was served for the rich.

There is a wonderful legend about three sisters who fall in love with the same young man and throw themselves off a cliff. They were in red, apricot and white cloaks. That’s why the churches are called Karmravor,Tsiranavor and Spitakavor.

But there is a hidden secret between the myth of these churches, engineering and historical episodes. You will open them during the trip.
