Not far from Yerevan around Kasakh gorge the town of Ashtarak and the village of  Oshakan are scatered.

The latest one has a village status but daily life is closer  to the small towns of Armenia.

These settlements represent  the whole structure from the earliest  period to nowdays being inhabited constantly.

In these settlements you can see almost all kinds of monuments, museums, bridges, baths, churches, caves, mausoleums ect.

What was created is also complemented by the picturesque nature of Kasakh river gorge.

The bridge is located in the Kasakh gorge on the river of the same name.

In the 1664 as the protocole left on the bridge.

Three span-bridge is made of tuff.

It played an important economic and political role for the region in time.

This bridge in Armenia is the largest medieval one which has been built according to all the rules in bridge construction.

The mill of Ashtarak is located in the Kasakh gorge on the shore of the same river near the old bridge.

The mill is fully preserved.

It is one of the main attraction of Ashtarak and  it is one of the cultural and historical monuments that has great value.

The mill was bulit in the 17th century.

It has served for not only Ashtarak but also near many locations.

It has been one of the largest in the region and has been nurtered by mother water stream.

There is an interesting building from Ashtarak to Karmravor church to the right of the road leading  under the rock.

This  public bath  building has been constructed  at the beginning of the 20th century.

The bathhouse has domed cover, common hall, separated rooms are heated by an open side  hearth։

To heat it people use wood. The building is being restorted now.

These churches are connected with each other by a tradition about three sisters who fall in love with the same youg man and throw themselves off a cilff.

They weard red, apricot and white cloaks that's why the churches are called Karmravor, Ciranavor, Spitakavor.

But there is a secret hidden between church myth, architectural and historical episodes.

Oshakan bridge has been built in 1706 on Kasakh River.

The bridge has been built by the patriarch Nahapet Edessa.

The Oshakan bridge has 62.65m height and 5.2 m length. The height of the highest span is 8.5m.

The dimensions of the span are different in slope. It has been built from smooth red tuff.

Saint Mesrop Mashtoc church in Oshakan was built on the grave of the inventor of Armenian writings Saint Mesrop Mashtoc.

It has built Lord Vahan Amatuni in 443.

The church is rich with frescoes which give special luxury to an already luxurious structure.

The excavations carried out in 2014 have made  interesting discoveries and an  open glazed scoreboard  layer of the northern wall is divided and you can see the old foundation of the church.

Oshakan is a village by status and from the point of view of urban planning it is very similar to the cities that could have been in Armenia 100 years ago.

Oshakan is an interesting residence with its geographical location and architecture.

It is rich with landmarks, cave seats, churches, old bridges, castles, mausoleums, old houses and other historical significance buildings.

Many Armenian movies have been made there.
